Newsletter privacy

What we use and why

We use your first name, email address and optional interests to manage and personalise newsletter updates. Newsletter marketing is based on your consent. Registration sends a transactional confirmation request; you become a subscriber only after confirming your email. The confirmation link expires after 24 hours.

We record the consent wording and version, registration source, request and confirmation times, and withdrawal of consent. We also use pseudonymous request and rate-limit identifiers to prevent abuse. We keep these operational and consent records to run the service, respect your choices and demonstrate consent.

Service providers

Vercel hosts the website, Supabase stores newsletter registration and consent records, and Resend delivers emails and manages newsletter preferences. The database is hosted in Ireland; providers may also process data internationally, including in the United States. Provider information: Vercel, Supabase, Resend.

Your choices and records

Use the unsubscribe link to withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect earlier lawful processing. We retain subscription details while managing your subscription and keep consent and suppression records where needed to demonstrate consent and honour an unsubscribe. Expiry of a confirmation link does not itself delete its registration record. No automatic deletion schedule is currently promised.

You may ask to access, correct or erase your information, restrict or object to processing, or receive portable data where applicable. Contact Ian using the email above. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority. Providing newsletter information is optional; without an email address and affirmative consent we cannot register you. Please do not submit health information.
